oulu again

well, as you might have noticed, i haven't really been using this blogger in a while.

no particular reason for that.

i'm in oulu now, doing my master's thesis. and all this little extra work. like substituting in schools, taking care of one down-syndrome girl and one cp-boy, teaching about children's rights, finishing my courses in the university, hanging out with my friends, and enjoying my time alone. i've actually fallen in love with the idea of being by my self, for a million reasons. :) and even if i'm quite stressed over studies, i'm happy. i love my friends here, but at the same time i can't wait to graduate and start fulfilling my dreams travelling and working. and aiming for exciting new jobs (=not teaching in finland)

most of the time my head is full of quetions and work related to the thesis ("gradu" as we call it here). it's about a certificate system and quality criteria linked to that. the certificate will be given by the educational and foreign ministries to NGO's which educate so called "global educators" that go around schools teaching on international and multicultural issues... most of the work is still ahead.

My dear friend Adrienn from Hungary came to visit Finland with her boyfriend Andras... was a quite hectic time showing them my country, but totally worth it!

summer...

wow.
time goes by so very fast. two months of summer "holidays" are already history. one more month to go. only. then i should think more about my master's thesis. this summer has been so much more giving than i could imagine. i've learnt soooo much. about me, people, my family, life, afghanistan :) , work, driving... and the list goes on. so much has happened, but still been the same. i hope i can continue growing. that i wouldn't get stuck, but would move on when the time is. i hope i can get to know the wonderful people around me better. i hope i can give. i hope i'll grow in all the aspects of my life and my self. the feeling of achieving and understanding a tiny bit more than a moment before is so beautiful and thrilling.

so what's up? life mostly. pretty normal: work, practice, tiredness, fun, friends, excitement, sad days, and days one wishes would never end. an ever growing passion to see world, the differents worlds that exist. warm days make life feel a little bit easier.

in helsinki

hi you all,

long time without writing. well, here i am again.
i've been really extremely busy here in helsinki. but it's been good. i'm doing one of my practices in the UN association of finland. you can the teaching material i've planned in www.ykliitto.fi/afganistan and from there to "tehtävät"-part. anyways. i've also been working in rinnekoti, a place for disabled people. hmm. it's been challenging. sometimes a lot of fun, sometimes...well, not so much fun. but we learn from all we do, right?

i'll put some pics here when mimmi sends me some from our nice midsummers-weekend at dad's place. i like my new, bigger family -or families. :)

mum's wedding

hi again my sweet friends!
i'm really lucky to have such lovely people in my life! :) my mum got married to Leo last weekend. the very small wedding was nice, calm and happy, and it was good to have some quality-time with my sister and brothers.
tomorrow i will have my driving licence test. i soooooo hope i will pass, because i need the licence to be able to drive to work this summer... fingers crossed, everybody!

summer is coming

hi all!

summer is almost here. nice, warm (15-20c) and sunny. makes people smile and talk more. suddenly life seems to be so much more interesting and happier. oh, and i smelled the first coming rain today! i've really missed that smell. freshness. purity. life.

i've had an extremely busy spring, full of activities and studying-related work. tiring but very teaching at the same time. and i like being busy... :)

alex met my parents a month ago, we both had a holiday in helsinki. :) we had a good time, i'll add some pics from there when i get some. we practiced some blacksmithing as well as spent most of the time running to different visits and dinners, lunches... and of course did some shopping. alex is a really good person to take shopping, he has style and patience...and is fun. :) maybe it's all in his lovely swedish genes?

my driving school, which i'm finally taking, is going well. should have a licence in two or tree weeks...exciting! (alex, tell your brother to keep the porshe for a while...)

soon i'll move to helsinki for the summer. i can't wait! even if teaching little immigrant children now is just lovely, i'm really looking forward to working in the UN association in Finland. with adults.

and in the autumn i should start writing my master's thesis. scary.

for some strange reason alex enjoys making puzzles... finds it relaxing. i didn't really enjoy the idea in the beginning (isn't that boring?), but it was no too bad after all. i must be getting old. :)

winter in oulu

here i am. in oulu. been for like 2 weeks. i missed this place, or my friends mostly. and it's been really good seeing them now!
i had Jessie here for a few days and Alex came for more than a week! we rented a car and went to Rovaniemi (in Lapland) to see the Santa and reindeers, was a lot of fun! We did a lot during the week, went to a spa, had dinners and coffees with different friends, went out and just relaxed. ...and played a lot of scrabble because the weather was too cold for us to go out too often: last week it went down to -30 celsius here...and i started to plan my summer holidays to a far-away warm countries that instant. now it's beautiful and not too cold, just below zero.
Alex has gone back to Sweden, and it's time for me to concentrate on my studies...and that's no problem with all the work to be done within the next few months! It feels strange to be alone though...no-one's doing my dishes.. ;)

i hope your year has started well!
i've had a really great time in london...
..except yesterday...
i was robbed and now i'm trying to sort things out so i can fly to finland (no passport) ...frustrating and very annoying.
